Wood pellets are made from wood mass using strong compression in special presses. Coherence of pellets ensures extremely high pressure during production, but also the content of lignin in the wood. It is not necessary to use additional binders. Thanks to the use of wood as a raw are pellets one of the renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources.
Pelleting process creates a special kind of fuel with high energy density, excellent heating value and excellent properties in terms of traffic and manipulation, which allow economical storage, stockpiling and automatic heating through modern, efficient and comfortable boilers with controlled burning of fuel.
Therefore, pellet heating is highly effective (boiler efficiency about 90%) and environmentally friendly (carbon monoxide emissions up to 1000 times lower than that required by the standard for Environmentally friendly product).

Storage of pellets is very simple - it suffices to follow the principle that it should not be exposed to high humidity or direct water. Pellets are usually stored on pallets in 15 kg bags or in special silos, from which pellets can be automatically transported to the boiler.

Buying pellets is better outside the heating season (generally lower purchase price) directly from the manufacturer pellets. Buying is usually possible also in supermarkets with this orientation.

Transportation options - through specialized companies that provide all possible ways of packing and transport (15 kg bags, big-bags, loose-fill, blowing in seasonal silo) or on their own.

Alternative pellets are one of the other potential sources of renewable energy. These are mainly produced from agricultural crops and its waste, but also from secondary raw materials. Positive may be relatively low cost, but due to the fact that its quality and composition are usually very unstable, it is necessary to test it prior to the application in specific conditions, preferably together with the boiler manufacturer. And then "force" the manufacturer to keep this tried composition and quality.
With these pellets it is necessary to count with a multiple quantity of ash as compared with wood pellets (6-12 times more) and different composition of the ash (e.g. slag formation).
