The links and wire interconnections are used to eliminate transition resistance of the conductive mechanical
contact of rails and interconnection of track circuits with the rails and interconnection of the rails which do
not tie together constructionally. They are also used to ground the conductive structures to rails.
The straps are used to conduct the wire links between rails via hitching to sleepers.
